Heat & Cool, one of the largest distributors of HVAC products in the United States, asked Classy Llama to help them re-platform to Magento as well as help them streamline their shopping experience.
We first spoke with the team at Heat & Cool when they reached out to Classy Llama during their evaluation of Magento as a possible platform. Prior to their Magento migration, they were running their store on Volusion and had dramatically outgrown the platform. Heat & Cool, one of the largest distributors of HVAC products in the United States, asked Classy Llama to help them re-platform to Magento as well as help them streamline their shopping experience for their customers.
We helped them navigate a top-to-bottom redesign of their user experience. Shopping for an HVAC system is very difficult using a traditional catalog navigation experience. Category listing with a few filters doesn’t really provide any guidance that customers need when selecting the right HVAC system. Heat & Cool trusted Classy Llama to take on this challenge by allowing us to understand and grasp the underpinnings of their data and logic and come up with a solution that made sense. Classy Llama also implemented a beautiful, responsive site that provided a softer experience for the otherwise hard, industrial HVAC product category.
To address this challenge, we created a unique System Selector that helps Heat & Cool customers feel confident they are purchasing the correct product for their needs. The system selector guides the customer to the right system based on their needs and what they are looking for instead of having to browse a traditional product catalog.
As streamlining the customer experience was a primary objective in this project, we looked for different ways we could accomplish this goal throughout the process. This led us to designing and implementing a specialized interface for suggesting relevant add-ons to products a customer has already added in their cart, resulting in a more intuitive customer process. We architected a solution that utilized as much of Magento’s native features as possible, thus keeping costs down while still providing Heat & Cool with a much improved customer experience.
