The most urgent task was making sure their site could handle the upcoming Black Friday sales rush. Every minute of downtime cost them, and they couldn’t afford a downed site for the third year in a row. The Classy Llama team worked with Rackspace to design a hosting solution for their M2 site that would support their peak traffic without breaking the bank. A DNS WAF from Imperva was also added for firewall protection from DDoS attacks.
Finally, the moment of truth came. On Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Smoky Mountain Knife Works experienced record-breaking sales. From 2017 to 2018, SMKW’s revenue increased by over 51% on Black Friday and 38% on Cyber Monday. On both days, their conversion rate increased by over 30% compared to 2017.
